Hounskull Bascinet Helmet – 14th–15th Century Knight’s Armour
The Hounskull Bascinet stands as one of the most iconic and advanced helmets of the late medieval era. Known for its distinctive muzzle-shaped visor, this design offered unmatched protection — the pointed “hound’s snout” skillfully deflected blows away from the face, while the solid steel construction absorbed and dispersed impact force with remarkable efficiency.
Worn by European knights between the 14th and 15th centuries, the Hounskull Bascinet provided superior facial protection, ample vision, and excellent ventilation — making it both practical and formidable in battle. Its legendary design continues to inspire, featured prominently in games like Kingdom Come: Deliverance 1 & 2 and other historical recreations.
Our faithful reproduction is handcrafted from 2mm mild steel, combining durability, authenticity, and comfort for reenactment, display, or cosplay. Available with or without maille, this helmet is built to order for a perfect fit.
