Medieval and Reenactment Update

Medieval and Reenactment Update

2022 opened with excitement across the medieval and reenactment community, with incredible events, lively markets, and gatherings like ARM (Artisans and Reenactment Market) setting the tone for the year. The passion for living history has been stronger than ever, with groups training, performing, and recreating the atmosphere of the past.

For us at Medieval Tents, this year has been about improving authenticity and durability in every design. Our tents are now crafted with heavier-grade canvas, stronger stitching, and more historically accurate structures—ensuring they don’t just look the part, but also withstand the demands of real reenactment life.

We’ve also focused on accessories and fittings, refining everything from ropes to wooden poles and decorative finishes, so that each piece feels true to history while remaining practical for modern use.

It’s exciting to see our products gaining recognition within the reenactment community. With each new event and festival, more groups are setting up camp with our tents—transforming open fields into true medieval villages.

⚔️ The journey to authenticity continues, and we’re proud to be part of the living history movement.

Beyond construction, one of our priorities this year has been sustainability. Many reenactment groups and event organizers are now paying closer attention to eco-friendly practices, and we have responded by sourcing responsibly produced materials wherever possible. By reducing waste and ensuring our authentic historical tents have a longer lifespan, we’re helping groups invest in gear that can be used for years to come, without compromising on medieval accuracy.

Community feedback has also played a vital role in shaping our improvements. We’ve listened to reenactors who spend countless hours living, training, and performing in our tents, and their insights have allowed us to fine-tune details like ventilation, waterproofing, and portability. This collaborative approach ensures that each design isn’t just authentic but also user-friendly for the demanding conditions of living history events.

In addition, we’ve been expanding our custom tent services to cater to groups with very specific historical periods or cultural themes. From Viking-age camps to late medieval marketplaces, our team has worked closely with clients to produce unique designs that enhance their storytelling and historical immersion. These projects have allowed us to push the boundaries of craftsmanship while staying true to documented historical sources.

Looking ahead, we’re preparing for even more collaborations with reenactment groups across Europe and beyond. As events grow in scale and popularity, our mission remains clear: to provide historically faithful tents that bring people closer to the past. Whether it’s a small gathering or a grand festival, our medieval tents for reenactments will continue to create spaces where history doesn’t just get remembered it gets lived.
